How does a multi-depth warehouse stacker crane with shuttle work?
A multi-depth warehouse stacker crane combines the benefits of an automatic warehouse stacker crane with those of a shuttle.
The crane travels along rails to a pick-up location where the load is safely deposited on the shuttle within the contours of the crane. The crane bears the load and the shuttle automatically to the storage channel designated by the WMS. The shuttle takes the load to the correct storage location before returning to the crane. This concept is suitable for use with various pallet sizes and is ideal for storing large quantities of single items (SKU), or for slow moving goods.
